Committees

Faculty Council
The faculty council is the highest committee. It consists of professors, scientific and non scientific employees and two elected students of the faculty department (chemistry and pharmacy). All own full voting rights and the chairman is the Dekan of our faculty. Prepositions which are being discussed are the result of other boards and committees.
Convent
You can picture the convent of the student body as a Parlament of students. It decides on matters concerning the students of all faculties so its members are delighted by the different student bodies. The representatives receive 1 to 22 votes according to their number of students of their faculty. The convent holds a meeting every second Wednesday between 6 and 10 pm.
Student Allowance Commission
Since Bavaria decided to eliminate the tuition fees 2013/14, there’s so called student grants - given directly from the government’s budget towards the universities. This money is tied to improve teaching and the overall education, but now the students can have a vote in what this money will be directed to concretely. So we are working on enhancing our studies by implementing our ideas with this committee.
Structural Commission
This commission is formed by the student coordinator, at least one member of the departments Chemistry and Biochemistry as well as students representatives of the student body. Their main task is the upgrading and enhancement of the different course of studies around the faculty.
Appointment Committee
In case of reappointing a professorship, this committee advocates the student’s perspectives when selecting a candidate. Besides having an excellent resume and research specialization - we need professors who strongly engage in their teaching obligation. They have to connect with their students and show interest towards their employees. The appointment committee invites the best applicants to have them prove themselves in a speech. The representatives of the students have an essential influence on deciding on a favourite nominee to present to the university senate.
